Future goals

As an educator, I'm constantly looking for new ways to get students enthused about the craft and to provide them with the skills necessary to produce the photos they visualize. With that in mind, I plan on starting a photo club at my high school where students can learn alternative and advanced techniques. This club would assume that its members would have a working knowledge of photography, and I don't know how the logistics of that would work out, but it seems well worth doing. I also plan to incorporate more video into the curriculum.
There are some industry-standard imaging software application that I would like to incorporate into my curriculum, also - specifically Adobe Lightroom. My classes fall under Career and Technical, so I want to tailor my instruction toward skills that are needed in the workplace as much as possible. Every business has need for visual content, and the employee who has skills and an artistic eye becomes more valuable to his or her employer.
I firmly believe that to teach with authority I need to be practicing the craft. That's the reason I still freelance for newspapers and magazines.
